Leilani Ahmu is the Owner and Club Director of Tsunami VBC who takes pride in teaching and developing fundamental volleyball players.
Leilani graduated from King Kekaulike High School in Maui, Hawai’i. She was a three sport athlete playing soccer, basketball and volleyball. She was an outside hitter for the Ali’i who won an MIL championship her junior year and placed fourth in states her senior year. After High School her family moved to San Diego playing for renown Coach Dede Bodnar at San Diego City College. Leilani played as an outside hitter her freshmen year and setter as a sophomore, both years being selected to the Pacific Coast Conference. heading to UCSD Leilani wanted to focus on her academics but was recruited to continue playing at Alliant International University under Head Coach and stand out volleyball player Allen Allen. Leilani captained the team both seasons as a setter and libero.
Leilani has been coaching for over 10 years. She started with starlings, coached 12′s and 14′s for Rancho Santa Fe Nike and Coached 12′s, 14′s and 16′s with Allen Allen Club Volleyball. She is currently the Assistant Women’s Volleyball Coach at San Diego City College and Varsity Girls Volleyball coach at Coronado High School.
Leilani graduated from Alliant International University in 2006 with a bachelors in Psychology and minor in Communication. She went on to earn a Master’s in Business Administration in 2009 from Alliant.
